A Very Merry Christmas!

Since we're flying to Texas tomorrow we decided to have our little family Christmas here today. Santa was kind enough to make an early trip and fill Charlie's stocking, but he also brought half the North Pole with him. We've gotten somewhere over 2 ft of snow since yesterday evening. It's definitely nothing that these Texans have ever seen and will likely never see again! Charlie was thrilled with his gifts and was impressed by how Santa knew exactly what he wanted. It was so fun to see Christmas morning through his eyes. We're so thankful for our precious boy! After a morning of breaking in new toys, trying on new PJs, eating pancakes & omelets, and drinking hot chocolate, we decided it was time to suit up and venture outside. Wow. It was nearly impossible to walk anywhere except where the parking and street had been plowed earlier. Charlie thought it was fun for about five minutes then he was done. He just couldn't stand getting stuck in the snow piles -- poor kid! A few inches of snow is fun but two feet isn't very functional for a little guy. We spent the rest of the day hanging out in our pajamas, taking naps, eating comfort food, and stalking weather/travel updates. Now we're watching the Cowboys game and hoping they can hold on to it! It's been pretty much a perfect day -- stuck relaxing in a safe, warm house with my two favorite boys. I didn't think it could get any better but I just started to feel Baby Bowman #2 moving around. Now it's perfect!

Priceless videos! I'm glad Charlie was so excited about his presents. If only kids could be that content every year with pj's, toothbrushes, and underwear. I see the snow but still can't comprehend it!

Santa came early for us last year. This year he came while we're gone (mark put the kids in the car and I played Santa) The kids are going to be so surprised. Isn't Christmas ten times more fun now that you have your own kids! I'm glad you got to experience some real snow and that Charlie realized that it's really nothing to get too excited about. I've been flying that banner for years :)

How fun! Glad it was such a great day! We had 26 inches in a 24 hr period a few years ago! CRAZY but so fun! I love tons of snow! So cool that you felt baby Bowman...I can't wait!

The snow was crazy (and still is, it's going to be awhile before it melts...) hope your trip to Texas was good, and Merry Christmas!
