I'm back...
I'm finally back to the blogging world. Last Saturday night I woke up with some ungodly things going on in my GI system. I lost five pounds in 48 hours, which would have been cool if not for the unending trips to the bathroom. It's taken all week to feel somewhat normal again and I'm really glad it's over. Anyway, because I spent most of the week laying around there's not much to report. My car's been in the shop all week so I've been driving a rental. It's a fun little zoomy car (Kia Optima) but I sure miss my Ascender. I just really love her. I don't get too attached to things but three material things that I LOVE are my car, my DVR and my laptop. I'd sooner get rid of my fridge and just keep my food in coolers than get rid of either one of those three. I can say that because when we last moved houses we didn't have a fridge and we actually did live out of coolers for a week or two. It wasn't that bad, probably due in large part to the fact that I hardly cook. Don't get me wrong. I can cook, I'm just lazy.
Speaking of cooking, I really like beef. I mean, I LOVE a good steak, hamburger, roast, etc. Cow tastes good. I'm sorry if you're vegetarian and this grosses you out, but to each her own, right? When I cook a roast I usually dump it in my crockpot, smother it with A1, toss in some carrots, onions & potatos and let it cook forever. However, recently I tried a new method that I found on an AWESOME blog, The Pioneer Woman Cooks. The blogger, Ree, is hilarious and the recipes are amazing. You should definitely check it out. In order to cook the roast I wanted a pan that could go from cooktop to oven so I headed around the corner to this restaurant supply store that I've been eyeing for several months. I'm now in love. It's about 1/10th the size of a restaurant supply store in an urban area but it had all the basics. I can't wait to go to a BIG one in the metroplex. I hardly even cook but it's such a cool place. Anyone else out there a fan of these stores?? Anyway, the roast turned out delicious so I'm a convert. No more A1-crockpot roast for me.
Ok, on to what the family wants to hear about. Charlie's been super cute and funny lately, which I feel is saying a lot given the amount of TV that he's watched this week while I layed on the couch clutching my stomach. He's really into praying and always thanks God for "Daddy, Mama, food & babies." He thinks babies are really cool, especially their feet. When we're done he always shouts "AMEN!" This is especially funny when we're at a church event or another public place. I just tell everyone that he's really feelin' the Holy Spirit. A friend gave Charlie sidewalk chalk for his birthday so he and Andy have been putting it to good use. This brings me to our featured video for this post...
