Puke Pancakes

I've started something new with Charlie. One morning a week, usually Monday, we head to a local diner for "Buddy Breakfast." This is a time when I try to cut out the "mom" stuff and just let us enjoy our breakfast together. He gets to play with the stuff on the table, pour syrup on his pancakes, and use his utensils however he wants without me bugging him. It's been a pretty fun time. When we went two weeks ago he was so funny and had all the old people entertained. When we were leaving he climbed up in a chair next to an old lady who was eating by herself and showed her how he could write on his travel aquadoodle. She said it made her day. He was so well behaved and we had a great time--I was so proud. Yesterday didn't go as well. He was already having a hard morning but I thought he'd straighten up once we got to the diner. He didn't. He was being mean and fussy about everything. He did okay once the food came until about midway through our breakfast. All of a sudden he gagged on something and started puking everywhere. Keep in mind that he had already drunk three to four cups of milk by this point in the morning. Yum. So there we were in the diner with Charlie puking his weight in curdled milk all over himself. Luckily I was quick and caught most of it in his plate, but I still had to go nuts with the wetwipes just to get him to the point where I would put him in his carseat instead of strapping him to the roof of the car. Needless to say our morning of errands was cancelled and we headed home for a bath. This motherhood thing continues to be amazing and gross all at the same time. This kid is nuts.

Siser...one word...proofread! I found at least 3 errors. Can you find them? Can you tell that revising and editing are 3rd grade standards?

poor Charlie!!...I took Jordyn and Landon to Dairy Queen last week for ice cream and before I knew it, Landon was making friends with the old couple sitting in the booth behind us. I soon found out why he kept going back to their booth...they were sharing their french fries with him.

We were at a church meal in Kilgore. You and April were about two. You were sitting in my lap and I remember laughing, then it happened. You started to throw up right into my mouth. Then all over the food on our plates and over me and you. I remember sitting there thinking what should I do now? Run for the nearest bathroom, which would leave a trail of vomit through the church building, or sit calmly there and clean it up before moving? I opted for the latter, feeling sorry for those around us. Yes Amy, motherhood has moments that will forever be etched into our minds.

I don't know what you're talking about, sister. I think you're just paranoid. :)
That's awesome that I puked in mom's mouth.
