How do you know when all the good shows are reruns?... When everyone's blogs have been updated!

I actually pretended to get on the treadmill for a few minutes but then the phone and internet attacked me and now I'm being held hostage. I have to blog before I can be released.

Today was beautiful here and that meant yard work. My neighbor loaned me her amazing weed pulling tool which lead to me pulling about a million weeds from the front yard. Two million to go and I'll be done. While I was doing that, Charlie "played" with the kids (3 years & 7 months) next door as their mom was working on her yard. That basically meant that he tried to steal their toys and get into their garage. Of course, that was in between the times that he was attempting to run into the street. He also kept laying down on the baby's blanket and trying to snuggle him. He's a seasoned snuggler. It was a fun time getting to hang around outside and visit with neighbors. I'm a huge fan of making friends with the folks next door.

Later after dinner Andy gave Charlie a bath and he thought it was so funny that Charlie was "making his own bubbles" in the tub. It wasn't too funny a few minutes later when I was fishing Charlie's poop out of the bathtub. I really take pride in the fact that I didn't vomit because I sure wanted to! After a soaking of bleach we now have the cleanest tub and bath toys in town. Gross.

Just half an hour ago Charlie had his second night terror in the past three days. I posted about two that he had in January, but these haven't been as bad as those were mainly because I know now how to better handle them. As he approaches the age when they are more common I'm getting worried that he'll have them more often. If that happens I'm going to buy a video camera to record them so people can see what it looks like. It upsets me to see him like that but I just have to keep telling myself that he's asleep, he's ok and he won't remember it in the morning.

We're a month away from Charlie's 15-month checkup which means I'll get to go through this...
Doc: "Is Charlie saying any words?"
Me: "Does 'uh oh' count?"
Doc: "Not really"
Me: "Then, no."
I'm not actually worried. I know he's fine. I bet he has tubes in his future though.

I don't know why but it seems like my sis Mel can teach Charlie in two minutes what I've been trying to teach him for two months. He signs "more" and "please" for her but not for us. Maybe it's because when she's doing it he's asking for "more Dr. Pepper / ice / chocolate please." For some reason he doesn't respond as well when I try to get him to ask for "more oatmeal please." Go figure.

After my post about clothes I bit the bullet and went shopping. I actually came home with two dresses. That brings the total number of dresses that I own to two. I couldn't believe it either. I also got some heels today to go with them. Although I'm really satisfied with my purchase, it was really hard to find things that I felt both fit right and fit my personality. I just think guys have it so much easier when it comes to clothes--better sizing system, better designs, more flattering fit, etc. That's why I love buying clothes for Andy because it's so easy to find great clothes that look good on him. I feel like as a woman I have to have the perfect body for things to fit right, even when I buy them in my size. I'm so short that I need to shop in petites but it's hard to find affordable petite clothes made for the under-eighty crowd. Ugh! Anyone know what I'm saying?

Thanks for your comment Amy. My parents still live in S'burg as well. I go back home several times each year and love visiting... We are actually going to S'burg for Easter b/c my husband always plays in a big golf tournament in LaGrange with my dad and Brother-in-law. My sister is actully married to Bill Wagner's (the HS principal of LG) brother. I am sure you know Bill. Yes, I played sports: volleyball, basketball and track, my coach was Larry Tidwell...sure you recognize that name...When you think of your coaches name let me know...Kayden's pediatrician is also from LG, Alicia Leffel, she was a Steinhouser (not sure about the spelling) she has a twin sister. I found Alicia through a friend and then I found out she was from LG. She has a practice in Keller where I live. It is such a small world. My maiden name was Lamascus. Just FYI. Your little boy is precious. Thanks for chatting with me...TTYS

I just read your previous blog about the clothes...I love watching What Not to Wear and am always begging Matt to nominate me for it. I volunteer to look my absolute worst (not that much different from the daily norm)for two weeks of "secret footage" in hopes of getting on. He won't go along with this plan.

Charlie is super-adorable!

We are anticipating a similar conversation at the 15-month check up too! (Ours is Monday.) Casen says "uh oh," "hi," and "dada," with an occasional "mama" when he is crying, but that's it. And he has had his tubes for five months. :)
