Let's Do This!
CAUTION: If you haven't watched the last two episodes of Grey's Anatomy because they're still sitting on your DVR, STOP READING NOW!! This is a spoiler!
1. How many times did you say, "OH MY GOSH!"?
2. How many times did you want to cuss?
My answer to both questions is: several!
Wow--what a finale. Several of the blogland predictions that I saw floating around came true--Denny died, Meredith & McDreamy hooked up, Burke didn't die, but the way it all happened--OH MY GOSH!
It was a long road for me to even get to the point of watching the show last night. Charlie and I went up to the hospital at 7:30 to visit Andy who was on call for the night, but right when we got there he got paged to the NICU, so it was already 8:00 before we started our visit. I called my girls (shout out to Amanda & Sue) with whom we had a Grey's date and said, "PAUSE THE DVR!!" God bless the DVR! So we left the hospital and swung by Arby's for Jamocha shakes and got to our Amanda's house at 9:05. Bad news--the DVR messed up and switched channels off the pause because of a timer. Luckily I had my DVR set so we all went to my house to watch it. Man...that was close!
Needless to say, two of us four girls (Melo was already at my house watching Sunday's episode) had our men out of town on trips and mine was working overnight at the hospital, so when the part where Denny died came around the tears were flowing like you wouldn't believe. Good grief!
Did you cry when they put the dog down? Amanda did because their dog is getting old. It was sad.
What in the world were Meredith & McDreamy thinking?! That's the thing--they weren't thinking!
Did you see Callie fix Meredith's dress for her? I love all the little details like that.
I wish I could've gone to that prom.
I yelled at Christine so much that she finally got a backbone and supported Burke in his time of need.
The last scene where the interns walked out together broke my heart. Like George said, they're family. It made me think of my friends. I love you all!
I can't wait to hear all of your favorite parts. I can't even think straight right now because it's just so much to process.
You know, in my field of study this kind of "connection" to fictional characters is called parasocialism and it's a popular fascination with some scholars right now. I don't care--I'm doing it anyway!
Ok, Charlie's tired of his swing. Poor guy! I bet he's tired of blogs too. He did awesome at daycare yesterday and I did awesome too. Just FYI, his daycare room is literally 3 blocks from my office so I don't have much room to complain. He slept 7 hours straight last night and woke me up with his laughing through the monitor. I went in and he was playing in his crib. Precious baby boy!

yes, I admit it...I bawled and couldn't control myself. So I went home and called my boyfriend and cried some more :)
I am still saying, "Oh my gosh" today. That was the most incredible season finale ever. It even beat "Who Shot J.R.?" by miles. The individuality of all the characters and the personal touches are just amazing. They are all leads. And yes, I sobbed. Ashley and I played phone tag all through the show too and you know she was sobbing. It was the longest yet shortest 2 hours in tv history. I can't wait for next season.

Did you know that GA is moving to Thursday nights??
Amy, your Dad and I watched it so we can relate. I even cried because I told your Dad I knew you were probably crying and I don't even watch the show. Moms just do those kind of things for their kids, no matter how old their kids get. You are not aloud to blog anymore unless you include a picture of Charlie. We decided that is a rule young lady and you must abide by your parent' rules. AMEN!
