I'll Take That!

I just checked my email and saw our church bulletin and guess what? I'm in it. Large & in charge and loading up my plate at the Women's Holiday Brunch. That was sneeky! I never even saw anyone taking pictures! It's ok--I have a great excuse right now and honestly, I'll be sad to lose that excuse when Charlie's born. There are a lot of aches and pains with pregnancy but a lot of benefits as well. All of the sudden it's cute to have a big belly. Excellent--I'll take that! Apparantly I'm "glowing" when I just thought I was really puffy & swollen--I'll take that too! My belly button's completely flat (until it pops out in the next week or so), something that only really skinny girls get to expereince, but now it's mine and I'll take it! My students cut me slack for never having their papers graded, because they assume it's really stressful being pregnant--I'll take that (even though the real reason is because I hate grading papers)! What else? I get lots of attention. Some of it I can do without, but remember when you got married and it was all about you? Well, until Charlie's born it's all about me. I realize that once he's here it's never going to be about me again, but until then, I'll take that!
The best thing of all is that this little buddy inside me kicks and rolls and does jumping jacks at all hours of the day, reminding me of the precious gift God has given us. I can't wait to see who he'll be and how he'll impact the world. I'm already so proud of him and I don't even know him yet! What an amazing blessing. Most of all, I'll take that!!
