So much to say...where to start? Better start with FAS #5:

I LOVE my precious husband! Yesterday at church we were standing around visiting after service and I look over to see one of our favorite "little buddies" Luke (age 3). He's the son of our new preacher (as of yesterday--he's the old interim). Andy's talking but I get Luke's attention from across the room and I point to Andy. Luke's little face lights up and he shouts, "ANDY!" and starts running. Andy, spotting Luke and being equally excited, bends down and Luke jumps into his arms. So they stand and hug and play like two kids. Meanwhile I get to talking with some friends and when I look over, Andy has attracted a crowd of some more of our little buddies including Kelson (4) and Luke's twin sisters Anna & Ellie (also 4). They're all sitting there talking and laughing and playing. Andy was in his happy place--and I was in mine just seeing him there. He loves being a pediatrician as he reminds me everyday. I always ask him, "Did you see any cute babies today?", to which he responds, "Of course! My job is awesome!". What a great guy!

Ok, the house thing--we're still a little unsure but we've decided to make an offer. We've prayed a lot about it and feel that our lack of clarity is God's answer--I feel like He's saying "Just sit tight for a minute." So what we've decided is to make a low offer on the house and go from there. If it's not accepted then we have our answer and we'll be at peace with it. If it is accepted then we've got a great deal on our hands and will be at peace with taking advantage of it. As I told Andy, I don't want to be someone who always wants the next best thing. I love our little house and it's our castle. We might not have the neighbors (lots of college kids) we want but maybe God wants to use us there. Maybe we need to reach out instead of running away. This certainly wouldn't be the first time that He's led us down the opposite path than what we would have chosen! How'd we wind up in Lubbock (which we LOVE) in the first place? It was our last choice--exactly! Man, I hate it when God knows me better than me! :)

Baby Bowman Update 2005:
As I'm typing the baby's movin around in there--I hope that doesn't mean it's an attention hog--"Write about me! Write about me!".
One week and one day until we find out--boy or girl? This week better fly by! We're so excited!
I guess I'll go ahead and ask for some advice on this one:
Girl name--Sarah Grace, would go by "Sarah Grace" (after Andy's mom; name's already set, just say you love it because we do!);
Boy name--Charles Andrew, would go by "Charlie" (after my dad & grandaddy).

Here's the deal--Andy doesn't want to call a boy Charlie because he thinks "Charlie" would get in trouble and "Charles" wouldn't. I refuse to call a baby "Charles." What's your take? Feel free to tell Andy that he's wrong. Can't you just see a little boy like Andy running around? Of course we'll call him Charlie--he'd be very funny, cuddly, & nerdy--just like daddy!

I love, love, love Charlie. Tell Andy to get over that one.

Charlie! Charlie! Charlie! So cute. I can just see Andy Jr running around. Whatever happens with the house God's hand will be on it, but I will miss y'all on this side of town if God's will is that y'all move.

Of course he'll be called Charlie! He's already going to be a nerd with the two of you as parents; why make it worse with a formal name like Charles?

Charlie and Carley can be a cute couple and Carley and Sarah cane be college roommates. Either way I am blessed!

Would you please write a post about some of your nice neighbors. I will try to stop jumping on the trampoline at 12:30. With that much beer in me, I just can't be responsible for my actions....

Yes, my son-in-law is awesome-I have to confess I brag about him on a daily basis. I have loved him from the moment we met him-has it been 9 years already? Everyone knows about Andy-but I have two other equally awesome sons-in-law. A truly mother-in-law's dream situation-of course I specifically ordered them from God. Couldn't go wrong!!!

I love Charlie! I have had both a Charlie and a Charles in class. Tell Andy, the Charles was in trouble more often and he never did his work! So there goes that theory...They are both great! :)

amy! i just ran across your blog when i saw you comment on another persons! it is great to get a bit caught up on you and andy's life. congrats on the baby!! (btw, charlie is really cute!) i'm glad things are going well for you in lubbock and that andy likes pediatrics. i was still hoping that someday you would of ended up in san antonio for your residency though. oh well! it sounds like God has put you right where you need to be and who am I to argue with that? brett and i have a blog so feel free to check out the latest in our lives. brett tends to post more than i do so don't say i didn't warn you. love you!
