This is the obligatory catching-up-on-events post:

Friday morning I took Charlie trick-or-treating at a cool shopping center near our house. I kept the Lindt chocolate that he acquired. Oh, and he wore a penguin costume.

Halloween night we went trick-or-treating on The Lawn at UVA. It's an annual event that everyone and their dog goes to. I wonder if Jefferson had this in mind when he built his Academical Village. It was chaotic and awesome.

Notice Charlie's taped-up pinkie. That was a huge hit with the college guys. After all, what's a toddler costume if not accurate.

We've been soaking up all of the Fall goodness that Cville has to offer. The leaves are ridiculous and I can't stop taking pictures of them.

Charlie's been having so much fun at school and always comes home with some cute project, so I decided to give him some gallery space on our dining room wall. He's so proud to get to show off his work. He even helped me paint the letters. He also loves his spiderman pjs.

Well, by this time tomorrow we will know the identity of our new president. I love election time! It's so exciting. I love living in a battleground state. I voted this morning and I really do consider it a privilege and duty. Today three different people have stopped by to make sure we've voted and the phone has been ringing like crazy with campaign volunteers. I've also received calls from Hank Williams, Jr. and Robert Duvall urging me to vote for Mc Cain. Ummm...are they stereotyping Virginia or what? I mean, I love Lonesome Dove and There's a Tear in my Beer as much as the next person, but if someone's going to sway me it's certainly not those two. Hey Mc Cain -- try Mc Dreamy or Mc Steamy and then we'll talk.

Last but not least, WRECK 'EM TECH!! OH MY GOODNESS! I can't tell you how happy I still am that we got to watch that game. Our neighbors (sorry Seth & Christine!) heard us yelling over that last touchdown. We wore red & black to church on Sunday, but no one really cared and probably thought we were matching dorks. So we drowned our not-being-in-Lubbock sorrows in pizza. We still got our guns up though!
