1) Andy had his cell phone stolen from his office. Just a few hours later, a police officer found it on the ground in another part of town. No calls had been made. Weird. We're very thankful that situation didn't turn out to be horrible.
2) Hanna is rollin' through Virginia as I type this. We're under a flash flood warning. I can't say that I've been under a flash flood warning at any point in the last ten years. The creek which is usually just a trickle behind our house is roaring. When Charlie takes a nap I'm going to go play in it. I hope I don't end up on the news in a rescue scene.
3) Yesterday Charlie went no. 1 in his potty for the first time. He was so proud and of course I was jumping for joy. We're going to work on it more today, especially since we're trapped inside. I just set his potty in front of the cartoons and made him sit there forever. He's at the "I have no idea how any of this works" stage, so just getting him to realize what makes his diaper wet is a big step for us.
4) Also yesterday, Charlie was playing with his plastic tools when I looked over and saw that he had taken apart the piston on the storm door. What in the world?
5) On Thursday I started a Beth Moore study at the church we've been going to. I've never done one before, but I know how popular they are. Honestly, I've stayed away from such studies because I don't mesh with the big-hair, Kingdom jargon, whisper-in-a-high-pitch-voice-praying, overly dramatic genre of worship, teaching or the like. That's ok if you like it. No judgement here. BUT...it turns out that I might actually like Beth Moore. After watching the introductory video, it seems like she's a genuine nut. I like that. I'm also excited about getting to know some new women.
Our neighborhood is awesome and we've got a lot of fun people to hang with. Our neighbor Christine is starting a photography biz and snapped this picture the other day while the kids were outside playing. I love it!
I see some Bowman Christmas card pics in her future. Thanks, Christine!

Charlie is so freakin cute!
I have been worrying about you and the storms....
Good job Charlie!
I knew you would like Beth Moore. she is pretty cool.
I miss YOU!
I guess an hour every couple of days on the phone just isn't enough. :(
Great pic of Charlie! I do hope you stick with Beth Moore...I loved the study I got to do last fall. Which one are you doing??? I'm trying to get into Bible Study Fellowship here, but I won't know if they have an opening for the kids til next week. Enjoy your storms...we've had no rain at all lately and could actually use a little.
And now Ike is on his way and poor Haiti. A lot of people have already died from the other storms. That is a precious pic of Charlie. He is so beautiful. He would make a great model. Send some of that rain this way.
Enjoy your Bible study. Sounds like it will be something all of us could use.
LOve, MOM
We're doing the Psalms of Ascent study.
I love the Beth Moore study of David. That's a gorgeous picture of Charlie.
Too funny as always...
To add to the comments on Beth Moore... in my sister's church, some women refuse to do her studies because they can't stand to look at her hair. That always makes me laugh, especially because it's Georgia. Anywho, I hope her theology informs your choice to stay or go, not her hair. :) (Though, in an effort to remain neutral, I will refrain from commenting on her theology- either pro or against).
Peace! Maria Walker
Charlie looks so big! Well, I guess he is, going potty and starting an occupation in the tool business. Stay safe in the storm.
I am glad that you weren't on the news. The creek in the backyard is quite tempting!
Psalms of Ascent is a terrific study! And I believe it's one of the ones they've redone the videos on so as to update her hair :) Beth is fabulous, and I learned alot from the study. Hope you enjoy it!
That was cute. Did you go play in the rain?
I've never known anyone to literally "love their neighbors" as much as you. I'm so glad you're having fun. I think Charlie looks like Srygley when we were that age. Cutie pie!
Great Picture of Charlie. I flet it was trug but not I know that he truly an angle. Only issue is it looks like the halo migh have fallen down on his head a little. But you can see the light of this wonderful child.
