I haven't actually seen the final pictures yet but I think we pulled off a cousin picture last weekend. That means that we got 7 kids, ages 7 months to 6 years to sit still and look at the camera -- while posing on a playground!! I think God heard our prayers last weekend because all the kids were amazing. I think we got some great individual pics of Charlie as well. I'll see if I can post some when we get them. Here are a few that I took while we were messing around.
Charlie also took some individuals pictures at Blauvelt Photography in Arlington. Again, I was wildly impressed at how well he did. They are friends of Andy's family and their studio and talents are amazing! If you live in the area you should check them out. I can't wait to post those pictures on here. They're going to be seriously precious! It was a really great weekend with Andy's family. It always makes me sad to leave. Charlie had so much fun playing with all his cousins and they're all such wonderful, sweet kids. They're really taken with Charlie right now, I guess since they don't see him often and he's the youngest "big kid." I love seeing them play together and I miss my nieces and nephews so much!
This week we had another jumpin' date with Carley, which was great as always. I also ran into my labor & delivery nurse who was an absolute angel when Charlie was born. Now he's 18 months old! Crazy!
Yesterday I took Charlie to story time again at the library. The same people were there: the babysitter who gives her toddlers airhead taffy, and the red-headed girl who interrupts everything. A few minutes into story time one of the taffy kids went behind the flannel board (used for sining BINGO) and puked up his taffy like a cat coughing up a hairball. Awesome. That's what happens when you feed toddlers taffy. Serves you right. Anyway, the red-headed girl's mom sells scrapbooking stuff and seems to use story time as her own little craft fair. She and three other moms sat in the back of the small room and discussed things very loudly while the poor story reader tried to get the kids to be quiet. After shooting them a million dirty looks I finally left and told on them. The main librarian made them move to the foyer. Ha! Ha!
After story time I went to the new Xtreme car wash, intending to get $2 off my $15 wash because I signed up for the VIP club and put their sticker on my windshield. When I got there I flirted with the teenage guy and got a free wash. Just kidding! They were giving free washes away to VIP members. They also kicked in a free soda. Score!! What a great day.
One last thing...CATS DRIVE ME NUTS!!! Not your cat, just the cats that think they live in my backyard. This morning I've chased them away three times. One of the adult cats was trying to kill one of the squirrels that live in our tree. Even though I'm not that fond of squirrels I decided that was enough! Andy called animal control, so starting next week they're going to put traps in our backyard and pick them up when they're full. Too bad we'll have to listen to them screech while they're in the traps. Ugh!
Speaking of cats, Andy just told me that on Tuesday when they were updating their pediatric advanced life support training they practiced intubating on partially sedated cats. WHAT?? He said he walked into the room and there were cats strapped to tables and they intubated them like they would a baby. He said it was disturbing but very helpful. Thanks cats. Your service may help save a baby one day. That's much more productive than killing squirrels in my backyard.

I can't wait to see the cousin pictures. Charlie is precious as always.
What precious pics and so glad your Cousin Pics were a success. Ours down here were so funny, and there were only three. Also sounds like you had a wonderful time in Arlington, which is great. I know Sara and Larry are terrific in-laws. We are so glad we can call them family and actually hope to go for a visit soon. We miss seeing the kids also. They are all so precious.
So glad to know you are doing your part to control the outrageous cat population in Lubbock. Joel and I have animal control on speed dial... just kidding, but we may as well! Love reading about Charlie and yall's life!! Miss seeing you!
