What a great weekend!

Saturday we cleaned the house inside and out. Andy handled the lawn and shrubs and Charlie and I tackled the pond and flowers. Doing yard work with Charlie is both a challenge and a treat. One minute he's sprawled out on his belly in a mud puddle and the next he's chasing earthworms and pill bugs. I love it! I couldn't resist grabbing the camera to document his hunt.

Wrangling an earthworm.

Charlie needed a pill bug for each hand.
He also wanted to taste them but I stopped him just in time.

Mother's Day was great. My folks came to town so they kept an eye on Charlie during his nap so Andy and I could catch a matinée. We saw Reign Over Me at the $2 movie, and it was pretty decent but depressing. I didn't really care though because it was technically a date and that's really all that mattered! Andy gave me a gift certificate for a massage--YAY!! He and Charlie first took a trip to the mall to pick out some perfume but they soon decided they were in way over their heads! I dropped the perfume hint (okay, it was more like a smack on the head) after recently running out of the only perfume that I own. Andy bought it for me on our honeymoon--five years ago! How pathetic am I? Anyway, there's never a bad occasion for a massage gift certificate and I can't wait to redeem it.

Speaking of gift certificates, I am redeeming my certificate for a golf lesson (from Andy this past Christmas) on Thursday. I called to schedule the appointment today and the guy even remembered Andy buying it for me. I don't think that's a good sign. I think it shouts, "Oh, I remember you because no one ever pays me for golf lessons." I'll let you know how it goes. My goal is to learn to play golf so that I can buy some cool golf shoes. Is that weird? Oh come on, you know it's always nice to get new shoes no matter what kind they are!

So, I'm currently excited about the new albums from two of my favorite female "rockstars"-- Pink & Kelly Clarkson. Ok, so I know Kelly started with the whole American Idol thing and some pretty sappy music but she's a rocker at heart and I love it. Do you? She'll be in Dallas on September 5 and none of you better go or I'll have to be jealous and hate you. BUT...if you'd like to take me with you I'll be your best friend. :)
As for Pink, she gets a little crazy sometimes but I love her voice and most of her music. One of her new songs Who Knew is my favorite right now. Take a listen:

I also really like her song
Dear Mr. President but I don't want to post it here because I don't want a political debate on my blog. If you want to hear it you can find it on YouTube.

Ok, I think that's about it. I've got to watch Heroes now. Are you watching it? What do you think? Question: If you could have any of the powers that we've seen so far, which one would you want?

That little Charlie is such a cutie. I'm glad you got the bugs out of his hands before he ate them. I'm not always that quick with Jacob. I think he's swallowed a good share of paper! Ugh!

I dig Pink and KC. They both have a very soulful sound to their voice that I really like. Kelly sang an awesome song on the Idol gives back concert. Did you hear it? Whoa! She coud have done a duet with Eva Cassidy and kept up with her no problem.

I want to know what kind of perfume you end up getting. I have an unhealthy obsession with fragrance. And I love Kelly Clarkson! Matt and I are going to try to go to her concert when she comes to DC.
