I Almost Puked...Twice.

When I would babysit before I had Charlie I would always get grossed out when I had to change dirty diapers or when the babies threw up. I remember people saying that it's different with your own kids, that somehow it's not as gross. LIARS!! For the second night in a row Charlie has puked in his sleep and remained totally oblivious to it. So, for the last two mornings I've gone to get him up only to find him playing with his crib aquarium while covered in dried vomit. It's so disgusting! I had to wash everything twice just to get the smell out. This morning there was even an extra treat. Because of the overwhelming smell of vomit in his hair I had to give him a bath before I took him to preschool, and while he was playing in the tub I put my make up on at the sink. When I went to get him out I saw huge piece of poo floating around in the tub! NASTY! I snatched him out of the tub and then I had to fish the poo out with a cup. Not only that, but there were several raisins floating around (he doesn't digest raisins very well yet) that I had to fish out! I'm gagging now just thinking about it. I drained the tub and filled it with bleach water and then slathered Charlie's hands and arms with Purell sanitizer. If I could have dipped him in the bleach I would have. Just to recap, I love my kid, but poop is poop and puke is puke. It's always gross no matter who it comes from. Feel free to disagree but I'll never believe you!

Andy always give Charlie his bath after dinner. I never really know what I'll find when I visit them during bath time. Andy recently developed a new bath time game. He likes to see how many bubbles he can pile on Charlie's head without him noticing. Sometimes you've got to amuse yourself even if your kid doesn't notice.

GROSS, siser! He better not do any of that stuff when he comes to my house. We'll let Uncle Jason clean it up. :)

I have been there!! It is no fun fishing poo out of the bath tub and cleaning up vomit in the crib...very gross--- especially the "sour milk" throw up!!

I will have to try the "pile bubbles on top of the head" game with Landon and see how he reacts:)

Can't wait to see you all next month!! Love ya:)

Reminds me of when your brother Bill was little and taking a bath. All of a sudden he started screaming and we looked to see what was wrong; he had gone poo and it was scaring him. It was floating and he was trying to get away from it. He didn't think it was funny but your mom and I did.

Ah, the delights of being a MOMMY! The good, the bad and the smelly comes with the title. We sure enjoyed being with y'all this last weekend. Charlie is an absolute wonder. I got some precious pictures of him and his Granddaddy. We are excited about watching Landon tomorrow night, all day Saturday and maybe even Saturday night. A baby boy was born at the hospital tonight and they named him Landon. Wish Charlie was here also. They are so cute together. Like having you and April all over again. Oh the things y'all got into!

Amy, your posts make me laugh out loud quite often.....love it! Thank you for your honesty regarding the world of parenting and BOYS! I am with you on the dirty diapers- I had nursery on Sunday and was totally grossed out when changing a little guy's dirty diaper. I hope I will soon be happy that our little guy's colon is working properly, but I fear I will be just as grossed out with him!

I completely understand - I think I will be that way too. By the way I am a Kelly Clarkson fan and an even bigger Pink fan. I am excited they have new albums coming out soon too.
