FREAKED OUT

I think Charlie just had a night terror. This is only the second time he's done it and it's completely disturbing. Both times he started screaming in his crib and when we went to get him he was pale, his little hands were shaking like crazy, and he wouldn't open his eyes. The first time it went on for 15-20 minutes (I think--it seemed like forever) and nothing Andy or I did seemed to snap him out of it. He just got more upset the harder we tried. This time I tried to wake him up but he just kept screaming with his eyes shut. Even when he eventually calmed down and opened his eyes it was like he was still asleep. He didn't respond to me at all. I thought I was going to start crying too!
Has anyone out there experienced this yourself as a child or with your own kids? It's so shocking, especially since he's so young. Andy says it sounds like night terrors and from what I've read it sounds just like what other parents describe. I'll talk to his pediatrician about it when we go in next week. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing! I don't know if I can handle that. I'm so freaked out!

WARNING: IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED GREY'S YET DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!!
Ok, so before Charlie started screaming I was sitting here basking in the goodness of Thursday night TV. The Office was HILARIOUS...Dwight in the bra, Ben Franklin, "prima nocte"...priceless!!
And Grey's...oh my goodness!! I loved every second of this episode. These writers are brilliant--I didn't see the Vegas wedding coming! I LOVED Christina's response to the proposal. She's really been growing a heart this season.
I wanted to cry when Meredith's mom relapsed at the end. I thought this was the best writing for Meredith that I've seen in a long time. Didn't you want to kill her mom when she was telling her that she's gone "soft"? How can a parent say things like that? I put that down in my mental "things-I-will-never-say-to-my-child" file.
And the "cartoon bear" discussion between Callie O'Malley & Addison! I don't approve of Addison and Mark but I loved that she totally admitted that she was imagining herself with Alex.
Note to self: If on chemo don't take herbal meds and turn my blood into a nuero-toxin.

That makes me so sad about poor little Charlie! I can't even imagine how that must just tear you to pieces.

I loved, loved, loved Grey's last night!!!

I wish I would have been invited to Phyllis's shower!

Poor Charlie. I have no idea. Give him a kiss for me today.

Sorry about Charlie. That's awful.

Best part of Greys: Callie O'Malley. I love it when they do things like that.

Amy,
Grey's was awesome. I am praying Psalm 91 for sweet Charlie. Keep me updated on how he's doing. I can't imagine the heart must feel when that happens. I hope it gets better.

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."
