Ok, I'm getting complaints again so I'm staying up late to post. That's how much I love you all. Charlie will be 4 months old on Tuesday. I can't even believe it! He had his 4-month check-up on Thursday--he's 13 lbs 14 oz, 23 1/4 inches and perfectly precious! He had his shots and it was pretty sad. I was brave though. Friday he had a low fever and just wanted to be fed and held so I stayed home with him. I just couldn't bare to take him to daycare when he didn't feel good!
Anyway, he's doing great at daycare and everyone loves him. The only bad thing is that the other day I walked in and they were about to give him water, which really upset me! One of his "teachers" is an older lady who I'm sure gave all her babies water when they were young (just like we all got), but I'm not giving my baby water! FYI: Too much water in young babies can dilute the blood and make them unable to regulate their sodium levels resulting in seizures. Ok, so your baby never had seizures but other people's did (and do because Andy sees them in the ER). My new theory on all these parenting decisions: There's so much out there that I can't control which can negatively affect Charlie, so I'll do my best to control what I can. So, in case you might babysit Charlie in the near future, he only sleeps on his back, he ingests nothing but breastmilk (until further notice!), and whatever else I say because I'm the mom! So that's my thing with my baby, you do what you want with yours.
Charlie went to his first cookout/swim party Thursday night. He didn't quite know what to think but I thought it was super cute. I didn't get any pictures though! We put him in this ring with a seat, but since he can't sit up on his own yet he just kind of leaned on the side of the ring and tried to nurse on it. We got a good laugh out of that but he didn't think it was too funny. We'll go again soon and I'll get pictures of him in his new swim gear.
Andy and I celebrated our four year anniversary on May 18th. It's kind of funny though given that this Halloween will mark 10 years since our first date. Time sure flies!
Just a few updates to common questions about where Andy and I are with school/work:
1. I'm teaching an undergrad class in June and assisting a professor with a master's class throughout the summer. I'll also be working to finish some papers and projects by September.
2. In August I'll be teaching two HDFS classes, one sociology class at another university, and starting my dissertation.
3. I'll take my qualifying exams in August 2007 and plan on graduating in May '08. Yep, that's technically a 6 year Ph.D.--what of it? I've been a little preoccupied with other things!
4. Andy will finish up his 1st year of residency in pediatrics at the end of June. He'll then have two more years in his residency.
Ok, I'm going to sleep now...here are your requested pics:

Oh, Charlie and Lily are so cute together. I'll have to tell Amy S. that her cute daughter made the blog!
I'm the worst siser ever! I totally forgot your anniversary! Forgive me. I just about cry every time I see new pictures of Charlie. He's growing up and I'm missing it! I told Jason that we have to move back to TX very soon. He ignored me. :(
I agree--you do have to move back to TX very soon. Y'all can move here and we'll have 3 sisters all together!
I still can't beleive they almost gave Charlie water. People are crazy. The only water Carley has had is the bath water she sucks up on her own! :) Good for you. mom. I agree, you have to do what is best for you and your precious boy.
He is so cute, just like his Daddy. Can't wait to see him again. Your Dad and I might just have to make an emergency trip up there when I get out of teaching summer school. Just don't know if we can hold out until y'all come in July. Of course we do have those two precious vonMinden kids and I tell you, they sure get plenty of hugs and kisses. Landon is just so kissable and squeezable, so we have to give him twice as many because Charlie is just too far away.
You have to give Landon twice as many because he's nearly twice as big! What a chunk! He weighed 2 & 1/2 lbs more than Charlie did at his 4-month! You should come visit!!
Oh, I miss you so. I went to Hebi's in my heart today! Charlie is going to be such a pimp.
You should post about Charlie's fav song Ms. New Booty
