This is a story that my sister April sent to me about one of her 3rd graders. We laughed hard and I thought you might too.
I have a kid in my class named Jesus. He's a humpty-dumpty lookin' kid who's very serious all the time. I was grading his reading contract this morning. He was supposed to write down the name of the Accelerated Reader book that he read and took a test on. He only wrote down "Arthur".
This was the conversation that followed:
Me: Jesus, you can't just write "Arthur" because there are lots of Arthur books. Which Arthur book did you read?
Jesus: Ummm...I think it was "Arthur and the Coochie Catchers".
Me: (laughing) Do you mean "Arthur and the Cootie Catchers"?
Jesus: Yeah, that's it. It's a good book.
Thank goodness some 3rd graders are still so innocent!
