Random Day
1. Couldn't sleep again last night. Slept until 12:00 today.
2. Organized errand schedule and set forth to accomplish.
3. Mailed package to baby Landon.
4. Ate lunch by myself at Cilantro's (a burrito grill). I like eating by myself. I also prefer to shop by myself regardless of what I am shopping for.
5. Needed to get carwashed but was running out of steam, so crossed it off the list. Lubbock has gone 88 days with no rain--it's a record. If I would just wash my car it would definitely rain and end the drought. I feel the need to get the car detailed for Charlie's first ride in it. We set up his carseat yesterday so until he gets here I'm driving around with an empty carseat sitting there. It's pretty weird!
6. Went to Toys 'R Us to look for a few last items. The one here is horrible and basically worthless. They don't have half of what they should and yet I still go back!
7. On to Caprock Medical Supply where they sell toilet chairs, wheelchairs, support hose, etc. It's where I have to buy my diabetes supplies. They still use paper filing.
8. Walgreens--gotta love 'em! They often save me from having to go to Wal-Mart, as was the case today. There were two men outside taking donations for a very ambiguous church to "help the homeless." My new response to anyone taking these types of donations is, "I donate through my church." It's a good response because it's true and I know where the money is going. Feel free to use it. One of the guys said, "Oh, you're having twins!" when I walked up. I should have told him how unfunny that was.
9. I got home and turned on the local news to hear how excited they are that they've put together a local weather channel. The weather is the biggest news on the South Plains and often the lead story, even when there's no change in the weather and there's been several murders to report on. I really don't get it.
10. I also learned that The West Wing will not be on next season. This is sad for me on several different levels. (1) John Spencer, the actor who played Leo, died last month and it made me sad because I feel like we had a relationship. (2) This is one of mine and Andy's favorite shows and we love watching it together. (3) When we had our second miscarriage, we rented the first several seasons of The West Wing as a diversion and locked ourselves in our house for a week. It was a good distraction.
11. A service rep from Moe's Southwestern Grill called in response to my feedback email that I sent the day before. Andy & I ate there for the first time and no one said, "Welcome to Moe's" the whole time we were there. The workers never smiled and didn't know how to pronounce anything on the menu. I'm not a complainer, but I had high expectations since April talks about how great the one in Atlanta is. If we go back they're going to buy us dinner.

I bet they'll be saying "Welcome to Moe's" now! That's part of the experience! I've been to many ATL area Moe's, and they are always hoppin' and yelling "WELCOME TO MOE'S"! Why weren't Lubbock employees trained on this?!
That guy at Walgreens was lucky that you didn't throw something at him!
I'll bet there are lots o' farmers just waiting for you to wash your car -- Yea for the Bows; you'll be welcomed at Moe's!! Glad you pointed that out -- since no one else did!
I had trouble falling asleep at the end of my pregnancies too. With your first baby, it's not that big of a deal because you can sleep late to make up for the lost hours in the night. Well when the second baby comes around, you're not so lucky. Zachary was up and at 'em at 7:30 whether I had slept good or not. So here's my trick: Benadryl. It's safe to take during pregnancy and it was just what I needed to help me nod off at a reasonable hour.
I know it stinks not being able to fall asleep, but enjoy your last few weeks of sleeping in!

P.S. Hi April!
I am jealous that they didn't shout "Welcome to Moe's"!! The last time I went it was extremly busy and it was being said every 2 seconds. Very annoying, when you can't hear your lunch conversation b/c of the shouting. :)
