LIVE FROM COZY VIDEO IN DOWNTOWN LAGRANGE, TX!
You have no idea how excited I am to make this post! Why? Because right now I am sitting by the ICEE machine in Cozy Video blogging on the UPS computer at 8:15 pm on Thanksgiving. Does it even get any better? I think not! So, if you're new to my blog, Cozy Video is the video store that I worked at through high school and my mom still works here as a second job. It's THE premiere video store in LaGrange (my hometown, population 4700). We had our Thanksgiving on Wed., so my mom volunteered to work the store and I'm here keeping her company. I've already jumped into my old routine of pulling and replacing rented movies. Good times!! I put in a chick flick, got my popcorn and an ICEE, and I couldn't resist the blog!! Plus, they've got high speed and I already explained my parents' dial up situation.
This trip to LG has been a blast from the past. On Tuesday we went up to the elementary school to visit mom during her lunch hour (she's a kindergarten aid), and we headed to the old cafeteria to buy an ice cream cone (for $.25--same price since I was there) from the same lady we bought it from back in elementary. So awesome! I also visited Ms. Demerson who is an aid with my mom and has been there since I was in kindergarten. I told her that she saved my life in kindergarten because my teacher was mean. I can't imagine how many sensitive little kids she's "saved" from mean teachers over the years. My mom had some OLD basic readers in her room that were written pre-1960. I remember using them when I was in elementary. She said they were giving them away so I took a stack for decoration in Charlie's room. As I was looking through them, I opened the cover of one and guess what I saw on the "check out" list is the front cover? Written in penciled chicken scratch was "Amy Forest." THAT'S ME!! There were also several of my old LG friends too. What a find! You can't pay for that kind of stuff! Remind me to show you when you come visit!
I hope you've all had a great Thanksgiving and safe travels back to where you came from! This Thanksgiving I am thankful for too many things to list, but since it's a blog I will specify that I am thankful for all my blog friends who make me smile everyday!

Oh come on. You didn't do our Thanksgiving justice. There were WAY more exciting things than that! Such as....umm....ok you win.
How about DELICIOUS chicken fried steak in the old downtown bar? What about how Jordyn is the coolest 4-yr.-old little girl in the world? You forgot to mention those things.
Yeah for you guys. I can't wait to visit LG one day. Steal a reader for Carley too. You can never start too early! Happy Thanksgiving, friend. I am thankful for you!
It sounds like you guys have had a great time with family. I'm so excited to see you on the 10th. Happy Holidays!
sounds like y'all are having an awesome time! I've missed your posts, so I'm glad you're back!
It was wonderful to have all you girls home for Thanksgiving. It gets pretty quiet around here with all of you gone. Wish y'all could have stayed longer. Looking forward to our trip to Arlington on the 10th for the baby shower. Thank you Amy for the help at the video store. We did have a good time together, didn't we? You are such a sweetheart. You always make us feel good and give a warm fuzzy feeling to our hearts.
It's been good to catch up with you & Andy a little. Tell Andy hi for me.

Dude...No trip to Smithville to visit an old friend? You're Turkey Day would have been WAY better if you would have done that.
Glad you had fun! Are you still there?
Ashley--were you in Smithville?? I only drove by Doty River 20 times! I should have thought about that. I suck.
