Tech vs. Kansas--30 to 17--GO TECH!! We were lucky enough to get some awesome tickets from a guy Andy works with. In the shade the whole time and 16 rows up off the field. I was most excited about the food--hot dog, Double T wrap (sausage in a tortilla), and a turtle fudge sundae and the game was a success to me! We happened to sit behind Dr. McGovern, who lectures the med folks on ethics issues, so Andy introduced me. Turns out he's Irish (yes, actually came here himself from Ireland--has a great accent like the Scottish dad on "So I Married an Axe Murderer"), used to be a Catholic priest, left the priesthood to get married, and now has kids in high school. It was quite a treat! Imagine commentary on a college football game by a 60-year-old William Wallace--awesome!
Baby Bowman Update 2005:
We won the crib on ebay! We saved $100 from what we would have spent in the store or online. Now, some may be thinking, "Man, don't be so cheap! It's your kid!". There's nothing wrong with being thrifty--in fact, it's thrilling. It's like winning a game! I also went to garage sales this morning and scored some cute unique outfits as well as a black & white portrait of John Wayne. Now, you may be asking, why John Wayne? Well, the baby's name is Charlie after my dad & grandaddy who are both Charles. My dad is a big John Wayne fan as was my grandaddy, so my childhood was filled with hours upon hours of John Wayne westerns. I'm now a big fan myself and my two favorites are "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" and "Hellfighters." Anyway, Charlie's nursery will be western, and in the Forest family there is no western without John Wayne. So, there you go!
House Update:
I think our plan is to close on Oct. 11 and move sometime after that. We can take our time since we're renting our current house and not selling it. Ok, so the sidewalk of the new house has three GIANT bushes (maybe holly bushes?) planted in it. We need to do something with them--I was thinking that in an ode to "Edward Scissorhands", another of my favorite movies, we'll trim them into some sort of shape. So, three bushes--you each get three nominations on your comment as to how we should shape them! Be creative folks!

I had a turkey leg, funnel cake, and coke icee at the North Georgia State Fair last night. Angela from Abilene said, "I miss my favorite fair food. In Abilene they had an Italian sausage wrapped in a tortilla with guacamole." Is that similar to what you ate at the game?
the bushes? A-C-U.
