A Person in my Pocket

Andy and I have had a long-standing belief that it would be awesome if we could somehow shrink one of us to carry around in the other's front pocket. I mean, don't you often find yourself wishing that you had your spouse, best friend, sister, whoever that person is for you, right there for when something funny or important happens? I know we have cell phones but it's not the same. You'd be "a fly on the wall." I could learn about everything that Andy does in his day, and when he needed a little encouragement he could take me out of his pocket, pat my head, kiss my face, and put me back where I belong. Is that weird? It's ok, we know we're weird. Well, I kind of have my own little pocket person right now but I can't take him out and put him back. Charlie hangs out with me all day long and it's nice to feel his kicks and flips and whatever else he's doing to cause such a stir. He's already my little buddy. I told Andy not to be jealous, but seriously guys, how can you not be? Don't you wish you could feel what we get to feel (aside from the painful birth part)? Women are blessed to be the ones God chose to do this!

I totally agree! That was the best part about being pregnant was feeling her moving around.

She got the hiccups every time I ate. That was a funny feeling.

I can hear it now, "Is that a person in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

Cherish these days Amy- Charlie will love to hear about how much you enjoyed your pregnancy.

It is such a blessing. I had no idea how awesome it would feel. I do wish Carley would not kick me so hard at 2:00 am. She wakes me up now. It is so crazy. I do feel incredibly blessed though.

I loved being pregnant. Well, sometimes it wasn't exactly loving with your little foot was stuck between my ribs. I knew it had to have been you since you liked being tucked away in such a warm cozy place, and you refused to be born after April made her appearance. Everyone is amazed y'all are 65 minutes apart in age. So the poor doctor had to reach in and pull those tiny feet of yours out of my ribs and into this interesting world. Charlie is one lucky little boy! He will have an extraordinary "Grammy."

Mom--what do you mean you knew it was me?! No one even knew I was there until April was born! Gosh--always the one being ignored!

OK, the part about pregnancy being such a blessing is really sweet. But the original idea about having a pocket person????? That kinda creeps me out.
