Ghost Stories
Andy was on call last night so I stayed up way too late surfing the web and watching tv. My mom came on instant messenger so we could talk (why were you up so late mom?) and she had a scary story for me. This probably also contributed to my lack of sleep!

I grew up in LaGrange,TX where my folks still live--it's about 5,000 folks and an hour southeast of Austin. It's a great little town with lots of history and an awesome courthouse and town square. The best video store in town is Cozy Video, where my sister and I happened to work from the time I was sixteen until my sophomore year of college--good times! My mom has worked there for a while as her second job. Cozy is located in an old building on the town square--maybe built in the late 1800s early 1900s? It is next to the JCPenny catalog store/antique store. Well, some weird things have been happening in the video store lately--moved & fallen video boxes, papers in different places, unexplained noises. To be honest, the place has always been creepy at night, especially when I'd have to go through the back door by the horror section into the not-so-renovated part of the building to get more supplies--I was always creeped out! Anyway, after several strange occurances, one of my mom's coworkers recently divuldged to her that the building next door (JCPenny catalog store) was originally a mortuary and it's rumored to be haunted! Uh oh! Creeped my mom out a little but she likes stories like that. Later that night she was closing the store by herself and heard a movie box fall on the floor. She finished closing and went to replace the box before she left. There the box was face down on the floor. She picked it up, turned it over, and what did she see? The movie was titled "Spirited Away"--a ghost movie! I think the JCPenny's ghost is a little bored with the new Fall catalog--maybe things will settle down at Cozy when the x-mas wishbook comes in!

Got any good ghost stories of your own? Post a comment!

I don't think the "Cozy Video" store is the kind of movie store I am allowed to go in....what kind of cozy movies do they rent in LaGrange?
