Andy's sister Kristy and her family came to visit for a few days and we had the best time! I wish we lived next door to them.
Charlie has to roll on every lawn that he comes close to. Monticello's is no exception.
We got tickets for one of Monticello's "family friendly" tours. This was my forth tour and I loved getting to see it through the kids' eyes. Charlie jumped right in and raised his hand to ask and answer questions. He thought he was a big kid or something. He also got to hold a woolly mammoth stuffed animal [Jefferson commissioned Lewis & Clark's expedition and a mammoth jawbone that they found is in the foyer] which he thought was pretty cool. When the kids were asked if they played any instruments Charlie said his mommy is going to teach him to play the violin. Ummm...guess I should learn to play the violin.
These last few pics are of Charlie at the sprayground. He's had a long summer with the neigborhood kids away. Last time I counted, he'd developed four imaginary friends -- Diego, Wyatt, Hank the Horse, and a giraffe. Most of the families are back now though and I'm so relieved! In fact, tonight we had a little neighborhood cookout and three new families were there. I love our neigborhood! At times it can be like a dorm -- you keep an eye on who's coming and going and if someone steps outside you ambush them and make them hang out with you. At least that's what I do. It's great!

Lastly, two of my favorite recent quotes from Andy:
1) Anytime we're driving through a wooded area he says, "I feel like we're driving in a salad."
2) While he was watching CSPAN-2 the other night he said, "I think the Energy & Commerce Committee is now my favorite committee." Huh??

Good times!
So, have the violin lessons started??!....silly Charlie:)
So you guys have been to Monticello about a million time since moving here, huh? Looks like you had a lot of fun! We will need to go to the spray ground soon.
We're so glad to be back too. We need to all go to the sprayground sometime! Oh yeah, after reading the Andy quotes, I can see where Charlie gets it from!
Seeing those Monticello pics reminds me of our super fun day together with you guys in C'ville :). Your neighborhood crew sounds like so much fun....what a blessing! Hugs to you all. KJS
I love those Bowman boys.
You are so cultured...Monticello 4 times and a violin. I tell you what....
You have Monticello, we have Southfork Ranch. Don't be jealous.
