I'm back...

My laptop was in the shop for a few days and now I've got it back so I can blog. I don't know why but for some reason I just couldn't blog from the desktop in the office. It just seemed wrong.

Anyway, things here are pretty good. I start teaching for the semester tomorrow so I'm pretty excited about that. Charlie starts back to preschool next Tuesday and we're both VERY excited about that. I think on his first day back I'll teach my class, have lunch out and then either take a nap or read a book. I'll get to do all these things without a sippy cup, goldfish crackers or babywipes being invloved anywhere in the process. I love Charlie to no end but little breaks are nice.

Charlie has added some new things to his skill set. He sticks up his finger when I ask how old he is. He's also learned to say "poo poo" which oddly sounds like "butt poo." I almost think he's saying it that way on purpose.

Last weekend we went to Little Rock for a good friend's wedding. When we changed planes in Dallas we left Charlie on the curb -- I think Andy's mom finally picked him up -- and headed to AR by ourselves. It was great! I slept so much and laughed so hard. The only hitch was that my dress showed way too much of my girls. Don't be jealous. They come in a package deal with the bigger belly and rear. I'm sure if you put on thirty extra pounds you could have a "natural enhancement" as well. There's this one picture from the weekend where all us wives are standing with the bride and there I am on the end looking a foot shorter than everyone else! What in the world? If I made the effort to wear uncomfortable 3-inch heals I think everyone else should have worn flats. The other thing I can't figure out is how I'm nearing thirty and still have to deal with blotchy, oily skin and acne. I did my time in high school--wasn't that enough? At this point I should have better skin than the college students that I teach. Anyone with me?

That's enough complaing about petty things. I'm just trying to lighten the mood a little.

Please remember to keep praying for Baby Bennett. The other day when we were done praying for Bennett, Charlie said "men." That was the first time he's tried to say "Amen." I'd like to think that got our request bumped up in line.

"Go down the slide, Charlie. There's a surprise for you at the bottom. It'll be fun--I promise!"

The only thing that stopped Charlie from shooting all the way across the yard was the side of the pool. It was awesome!

Charlie's asking for more of something. I hope it's not what Landon's rounding up.

Charlie learning about physics at the Science Spectrum.

Carley came over for dinner the other night. Charlie got his shirt all messy so we took it off. Carley thought she had to take hers off too. They fought over the rocking horse and chair most of the evening. I'm glad they're friends!

Those are fun pictures! I love the one of Charlie "flying" into the pool. Priceless...
