Well, we got our A/C fixed at 9:30 Tuesday night and I've been reveling in the cold goodness ever since. As if me being without air for two days is the most pressing issue on earth. I'm just saying that I'm thankful God created the folks who made air conditioning. I'm especially thankful that God created our "guy" Elias who fixes everything around our house for cheap. If you don't have a "guy" you need one!

I have to say that after I posted about Charlie being a little toot he's been a little doll. I think he must have read my post and felt guilty. What? You didn't think he could read yet? He can, just not out loud. He gets shy. Anyway, I think he just got really out of sorts with all the traveling and banning of the pacifier to crib-time only. So lately he's back to his old self. He's been so fun and we haven't even been doing anything to entertain him!
Yesterday morning we were reading a book that talked about "Tommy and his mommy." When I was a few pages into it he lined his face up with mine, looked me in the eyes, gave me the biggest kiss (closed-mouth, which shows a lot of effort on his part) and said as plain as day, "Mommy." WHAT???!!! Andy and I looked at each other with shocked open mouths and tears in our eyes. At 17 months old this is the first time we've ever heard Charlie call me "mommy." I thought I would die and go to heaven right there. As we made a huge deal over it Charlie just kind of looked at me like I was crazy. Precious boy!

What else? I think I've officially caught the baby bug. It's Andy's fault. He started on this road several months ago, to which I said a solid "I'M NOT READY!". But a lot has happened in the last several months. Now Andy's not ready and I'm looking at baby bedding on eBay and redesigning the guest room. Man! Once that bug takes hold it goes nuts. According to Andy, he needs to clear up some "mental real estate" (Jason, if you're reading this, this is another one of Andy's tenets that I told you about) before we can think about another baby, which I totally understand. We don't really know where we'll be or what we'll be doing a year from now and I don't want to be switching insurance or moving across country right before or after a new baby! It makes sense to hold off, so I'm glad I've got plenty of friends to use for a baby fix. I'm also not too keen on facing another miscarriage, daily heparin shots, gestational diabetes, etc. again. It all comes with the territory I guess.

Ok, one more thing. It's time Charlie's started to earn his keep around here. He's always making such a mess that I thought he could help me out with some chores. One of his new things is emptying the dry clothes from the dryer. He loves it and the funny thing is that he's really good at it. It cracks me up! He hasn't tried to climb in the dryer yet but I'm sure he'll get there sooner or later. Now if I can just get him to put the clean clothes away we'd be in business! Who am I kidding? I can't even get myself to put the clean clothes away!

That is so great that Charlie said Mommy! What a sweet memory you have to cherish. I need to get Jacob in on the chores thing. That's a good idea. :)

Precious Charlie! I love when other people have the baby bug. Don't worry, with three, I am sure I can loan you one whenever you feel you need a "fix" and that will "fix" you for a while.

It is about time Charlie started earning his keep. Carley is going to mow the lawn first thing in the morning.

What an awesome moment when he said "Mommy." So sweet! Way to get him on the chores. Does he have an allowance?

As far as the baby bug, I've been ready for a couple of months now, too!
