Wow--it's been a long time away from blogland! Charlie and I just got back from our whirlwind tour of Texas and man are we pooped (one of us more literally than the other!). What a great trip! We visited Andy's family, tons of good friends, my family, great-grandma, cousins, etc. Charlie was an absolute dream--he's so hilarious these days and a true model baby. I say that because I'm fully aware that he could wake tomorrow with his mind set out to prove me wrong, but for now I'll enjoy bragging about how perfect he is!
There's just too much to talk about in one blog so I'll start with the pics that I have on my camera. I have tons more to post about in future blogs though!
This is the tailend of the trip--the visit in Central Texas with my sister & her family and our folks.

Misti (our big sis), Me, and April (my twin sis), Charlie, Jordyn, and Landon. Jordyn & Landon are Misti's babies. Landon is only two weeks older than Charlie but he's almost twice as heavy! Jordyn is the sweetest little girl in the world and Landon is such a sweet little boy. Charlie pulled Landon's hair and poked him in the eye. I think I've exposed him to too much UFC.
Charlie and Landon got to meet their great-grandma for the first time. That's our grandma in the middle and our mom on the side. They both look a lot younger than they are--I hope to follow in their footsteps. Our grandma's really funny. She's 83 and was talking about how hard she laughed at the movie she watched the night before. The movie happened to be "The 40 year-old Virgin."
Charlie's "James Dean" pose. Check out the mohawk with that little curl in front. He always wants his hair fixed like that even though I tell him it's a little embarassing. This picture was taken at my favorite bbq place--Prause's Meat Market in my hometown of La Grange (yes, it's the ZZ Top song). Note the deer head and the "La Grange Leopards" sign on the wall. Hunting and high school football--the two mainstays of the town. If you happen to stop by you have to get the brisket and the baked potato potato salad. Tell them one of the Forest girls sent ya.
Charlie loves his cousin Jordyn. He also loved her little piano...until it flipped up and smacked him in the head. We told him to shake it off and that's just what he did...while he cried.
We had to make a pit stop in Abilene so we stopped and introduced Charlie to Cajun Cones (brings back memories, huh?). One day I'll explain to him how Cajun Cones played a crucial role in his parents' relationship.

CAJUN CONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it! Precious pictures and family time. I am glad you are back. Carley and I missed you.
Love the family pics! Thanks for letting me snuggle with Charlie this morning.
Ummm, we totally could have met you up at Cajun Cones! We go there practically every day! I'm glad you had a fun trip! Rest up!
Amy, that totally cracks me up that your grandmother would even think to rent a movie entitled "The 40 year old virgin". It was great getting to see you guys! What memories I have of Cajun Cones with you and Andy. We would go and sit in the back of Andy's truck and for some reason (in the beginning)I always had to go along. I'm glad Charlie got to go and see one of the great past times of his parents!
Amy, we enjoyed the days y'all were here also. It was so hard to say goodbye. Oh, your grandmother is 81. you aged her a bit. LOL! Your dad is having Charlie withdrawls and is already planning to come for a visit before I have to start back to school. If I do say
so myself, we have three precious grandchildren. Charlie will be walking at 9 months like his mama the rate he is going. Love ya
Let me see...Oh yeah I forgot...Katy is 50 MINUTES AWAY from LA GRANGE. Duh, Rake.
And lets see I was home for a week while my mom was in the hospital.
