Ok, it's been too long since I updated but it's not all my fault. I've had fits with blogger this week--lots of freezing up and stuff. I really have tried!
Just some stuff:
1. The other day Charlie puked directly into my bare armpit. That was weird and gross.
2. I wondered why Charlie's diaper kept leaking all the time. After he pooped through his clothes and mine onto my bare leg I figured out that the newborn diapers were too small. We're now using the bigger size with much success. You'd think I'd figure these things out sooner!
3. On Tuesday Charlie and I had a lunch date with our friends Kyler, Kole, Carley, Hunter, & their moms. It was great fun! I think we'll start meeting weekly for poker and cocktails like on DH. After lunch we went to Sonic, the car wash, Old Navy, and Kohls. Charlie just hung out and looked around the whole time. He's a great little buddy!
4. My mom and dad visited Charlie this week and just left today. One night my mom slept in Charlie's room and took over feeding duty and I slept all night--AWESOME!! Thanks mom!
5. Charlie went to Melody's house today for several hours so Andy and I could take naps--also awesome. Thanks Mel!
6. In two weeks Charlie and I will travel to ACU so I can have my annual meeting with the Sociology/Social Work visiting committee ('cause I'm very grown up like that to be on the visiting committee!). My sis April will fly in and travel with us and take care of Charlie while I'm busy. This will be her first time to meet her! I look forward to showing Charlie around campus--Chapel, The Bean, Echo Point, the quiet rooms, etc. I can't wait! After that we're heading to LaGrange so he can meet his Auntie Ann (my aunt), his Aunt Misiti, Uncle Brad, and cousins Jordyn & Landon. Charlie & Landon are only two weeks apart so it will be fun to get them together. I think they're going to go fishing or something.
7. Sweet Phyllis Trevathan sent Charlie a little soft baby Bible storybook because she said that Charles would have wanted to send him a book. I almost cried. It just got Mel & me talking--what if we took that baby Bible to church one time as our own. Teacher: "Please open your Bibles to Matthew chapter 6." Me: "Um, is that page 3 with the puffy lamb or page 4 with the glittery fish?" Maybe it's not that funny now as you read this but it was darn funny a minute ago when we were talking about it!
Funny Andy & Charlie story:
The other day Andy came home and took over Charlie so I could take a shower. As I was getting ready to get in the shower I heard Andy shout "Amy, I need you!" I found him and Charlie in the guest bathroom standing over the toilet, Andy holding Charlie in one arm and attempting to relieve himself at the same time. Why? Andy couldn't wait and he didn't want to put Charlie down and make him cry because he didn't want to stress me out as I got in the shower. It seems that Charlie's pacifier dropped into the toilet and Andy tried to grab it with his "free" hand and lost control of what he was doing. That's why he needed me to come get Charlie. So, there it was--the pacifier at the bottom of the toilet. Andy, the smart guy with the MD, retired to the couch baffled as to how to retrieve it. I quickly got a hanger and fished it out and into the trash. Classic!
Anyway, Charlie's doing so great. I think his crying was less colic and more of me not knowing what he wanted when he cried. Now that I'm better at that things are going really well. He's a great baby and when he laughs and plays Andy & I just melt. He's SO precious.
Of course I couldn't go withou
t posting some new pics. These are from week 6!Mel and our little sweet pea!! This was his St. Patty's outfit. He loved that I dyed his milk green. Thanks Kimberly & Schu for the awesome outfit--it's a huge hit!
Charlie had his first trip to the park. Mom and I took him and his big friend Savannah. He loved it when I shoved him down the slide and when we played underdog on the swings. Ok, maybe we just sat and watched but I'm sure he wanted to do those things!
He looks like he's laughing but he's really about to scream. He could care less about his play mat and any other toy/entertainment item. He just wants to be held and smiled at, and lucky for him I never want to put him down or let him cry! He also hates his swing--what?! What baby hates the swing? Not cool Charlie, not cool.

Charlie is too cute! And that toilet story is hilarious! I needed a laugh out loud moment in the middle of my day!!
Okay, so there's this children's book called Charlie the Caterpillar...your baby looks just like him!! I'll have to send you the link. OMG--Does Andy know that you posted that story about him? Jason enjoyed that one. I'm sure Andy would say, "You don't have to tell everything you know!"
Amy that story is hilarious, my sides hurt from laughing! I can imagine Jason doing something very similar once Jake comes around.
Keep the updates coming. These are great and get me very excited for our new adventure.
He is so cute. I can't wait to cuddle with him soon. He is precious, as is his mom.
I can't believe you are on the visiting committe. You are grown up!
