Wow--it sure did go by fast! Sorry for the lack of posting. I don't want to be one of the non-posters. We went to Andy's folks' last Tuesday and just got back home late Sunday night. My folks arrived here yesterday evening for a week-long visit so things have been a little busy.
Oh Christmas...I love it! Our Christmas was full of nieces & nephews. I love nieces & nephews. It's
a relationship different from any other. We get to laugh at things that we shouldn't laugh at, teach them things we shouldn't teach them, and give them back when they get too rowdy. I'm a little worried about the types of payback we might get with Charlie from the things we've exposed our nieces & nephews to. This holiday season we taught our nephews to say "winner, winner, chicken dinner" when something goes right. I worry that their parents won't take the new skill as seriously as say, the alphabet, and they won't reinforce it with regular practice. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?I have a nephew story and I've already warned his mom that I'm posting it because it's way too funny not to. Our nephew Matthew, almost 3 years old, is really hilarious. He doesn't even know he's funny but we laugh at him all the time. Here we go. After Christmas Eve dinner, most of the family had left the dinner table, but Andy and I, his sister and her husband, and Matthew were still at the table. As Matthew's mom was cleaning the pumpkin pie off of his hands, he seemed to be asking her some serio
us questions. He kept naming different family members and asking something about "designer." He started out with the girls, who all seemed to have this "designer" something, but Uncle Andy didn't have a designer. At this point I caught on and nearly fell to the floor laughing. I probably would have but I knew I wouldn't be able to haul myself back up. Andy was the only one who still hadn't clued in, but then Matthew asked, "Does Uncle Andy have a penis?" That word was much more articulated than "designer" had been. Wow! That's quite possibly the funniest Christmas dinner moment I've ever had! Needless to say, we now have a new code word thanks to Matthew.
I just had to post this picture of our youngest niece, Annaclaire. She is so precious and chubby and pleasant. She looks just like a Bowman too!
Baby Charlie Update 2005
Everything's great, minus the gestational diabetes, unbelievable feet & leg swelling, and all the other non-glamorous things that come with the last several weeks. It's worth it though to have a live-in yard boy in about 12 years. Tomorrow will mark 7 more Wednesdays and counting. That's pretty crazy! I'd like to send a shout out to Ashley & Cody Nelson who will be parents in about 24 hours. Oh my goodness! I can't even believe it. I need to stop typing and call them just to let them know that I am freaked out on their behalf. Welcome to the world Carley! We're can't wait to meet you!!

All I can really say is - WOW. That's one heck of a story. I can always count on Mrs. Dr. Bowman for my dose of the best medicine.
What a great looking family! And little Annaclaire is just one of those darlings you could squeeze and never want to let go. Glad you had a great time. Sure am enjoying our time with you here in Lubbock, and couldn't ask for nicer weather. I know you ordered it just for your dad and I.
